Meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus
19 May, 2025On May 19, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the active political dialogue between the two countries and the dynamics of deepening the partnership.
Recalling the opening of resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Annita Demetriou expressed confidence that through joint efforts it would be possible to expand cooperation in new areas of mutual interest. Notably, the economy, tourism and education were identified as sectors with significant development potential.
Minister Mirzoyan and Demetriou touched upon issues of mutual support on international platforms. Both sides emphasized the importance and prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus in the context of further deepening the Armenia-EU partnership. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the effective use of existing tools and robust support from EU member states are crucial for advancing the Armenia-EU cooperation.
The meeting also addressed regional issues. Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored that, despite all challenges, Armenia remains committed to the agenda of establishing peace in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan presented the efforts aimed at normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, particularly emphasizing the importance of signing the peace treaty.
