Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and North Macedonia

On May 13, within the framework of his working visit to Luxembourg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia Timčo Mucunski. 

The interlocutors discussed opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Armenia and North Macedonia. In the context of enriching the bilateral agenda, the Ministers emphasized the importance of expanding the legal and contractual framework, holding regular political consultations between the two foreign ministries, and boosting trade through the intensification of business contacts.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Timčo Mucunski touched upon issues of cooperation in multilateral platforms.

The Ministers of Armenia and North Macedonia exchanged views on cooperation with the European Union. Minister Mirzoyan stressed that deepening the partnership with the EU is a key component of Armenia’s balanced foreign policy, in line with the aspirations of the citizens of Armenia.

International and regional developments were also discussed during the meeting. In the context of efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, Minister Mirzoyan underscored the importance of signing the Agreement on peace and establishment of interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the effective unblocking of regional communications.
