Meeting dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2026-2030
05 May, 2025On May 5, a meeting dedicated to the development of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) was held with the participation of representatives from the Government of the Republic of Armenia, UN agencies, and partner countries in development cooperation.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan and the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Armenia Françoise Jacob.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister Abisoghomonyan highlighted the important role of the United Nations and other international development partners in supporting Armenia’s development agenda and in responding to emerging challenges. It was underlined that the new Armenia–UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework offers a valuable platform for enhancing effectiveness and coordinated cooperation between the parties.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of aligning development cooperation with Armenia’s national priorities, particularly in implementing targeted programs that address the needs and priorities of the most vulnerable groups, including forcibly displaced refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh. He also highlighted the necessity of strengthening Armenia’s resilience to natural disasters and other crises. In advancing the country’s reform agenda, Deputy Minister Abisoghomonyan stressed the need not only for effective policymaking but also for access to essential tools, technologies, and support capacity-building.
