Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in a round-table discussion in Stockholm
11 November, 2024On November 11 in Stockholm Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister for International Development cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden, Benjamin Dousa.
The interlocutors discussed opportunities for enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and promoting trade in line with the political dialogue formed between the two countries. They agreed to work jointly to foster business ties, including by encouraging investments.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Sweden also touched upon the democratic reforms in Armenia, highlighting the importance of cooperation and support from like-minded partners on this path. In that context, Minister Mirzoyan noted that Armenia values close cooperation with Sweden, as well as with other EU member states in developing democratic institutions and strengthening capacities in Armenia.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Benjamin Dousa also exchanged views on regional developments. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia as a factor contributing to stability under the current circumstances. Foreign Minister of Armenia also stressed that Armenia has adopted an agenda for normalizing relations with its neighbors and establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, which in turn could create positive preconditions for regional economic development and the efficient incorporation of regional infrastructure in the West-East connectivity network.
