The newly appointed Ambassador of Greece handed over a copy of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia

On December 22, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan received Christos Sofianopoulos, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Armenia on the occasion of handing over a copy of his credentials.

The Deputy Foreign Minister congratulated Ambassador Sofianopoulos upon the assumption of his mission and expressed confidence that the Ambassador will spare no effort to further deepen and strengthen the friendly relations between Armenia and Greece.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon issues of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including the steps taken within the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership.

At the meeting, Paruyr Hovhannisyan also briefed his interlocutor on the latest developments in the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The importance of the deployment of the EU monitoring mission in the context of restraining new encroachments against the sovereign territory of Armenia was emphasized. The projects aimed at the development of transport and economic interdependence, including the “Crossroads of Peace’’ project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, were also touched upon.
