Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Mexico

On September 13, the round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States was held at the Secretariat of Foreign Relations of Mexico.

The consultations were conducted by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan and Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Carmen Moreno Toscano.

The counterparts discussed a wide range of issues on the development of Armenia-Mexico relations. The importance of regular Armenian-Mexican political dialogue,  expansion of the legal framework, development of trade-economic, inter-parliamentary and academic ties, as well promotion of economic, educational and cultural relations were highlighted during the consultations.

The parties touched upon the cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as the urgent issues of the regional and international agenda.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented the daily deteriorating humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, the normalization process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, and regional developments.

Within the framework of the consultations, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Republic of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan and Carmen Moreno Toscano, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Mexico signed the Memorandum of Understanding "On Academic Diplomatic Cooperation between the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States".
