Deputy Foreign minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received Didier Parakian, the member of the National Assembly of France

On August 21, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia had a meeting with Didier Parakian, Member of the French National Assembly.

Deputy Minister Hovhannisyan congratulated Didier Parakian on the occasion of assuming his parliamentary term, and thanked for personal contribution in strengthening the Armenian-French friendship during his tenure as Deputy Mayor of Marseille.

In the context of the privileged relations between Armenia and France, Paruyr Hovhannisyan underlined the role of parliamentary and decentralized cooperation in the continuous strengthening of Armenian-French multi-sectoral cooperation.

The sides touched upon the dire humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the months-long blockade of the Lachin corridor and underscored that the urgent discussion of the UN Security Council held on August 16 demonstrated the comprehension of the serious consequences of the humanitarian crisis for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the importance of reopening the Lachin Corridor as stipulated in the November 9 statement and the February 22 and July 6 decisions of the International Court of Justice.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the constant efforts of France towards preventing the humanitarian catastrophe in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the humanitarian aid from Paris and 7 regions of France, which joined the humanitarian convoy of the Armenian Government in Kornidzor.
