The joint event of the MFA of Armenia and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) titled "Impact of the international health crisis on legal infrastructure for trade"

On June 13, a hybrid event titled ”Impact of the international health crisis on legal infrastructure for trade" was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia jointly with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Yeghishe Kirakosyan, the Representative of Armenia before the European Court of Human Rights and Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law delivered opening remarks.

During the meeting Anna Joubin-Bret presented the main components of an emergency tool kit for economies and public and private stakeholders in the event of a future health crisis.

The event focused on researching works to address the impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic and other emergencies on international trade. It also involved sharing legislative practices related to response and resilience, including cross-border paperless trade, e-procurement, business restructuring, international transportation, international sales of goods and dispute settlement.

Representatives of a number of embassies and international organizations accredited in Armenia attended the meeting, both in person and remotely. They shared their visions, positions on the topics discussed and outlined new areas of cooperation through brief reports.
