Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Czech Republic

On October 6 political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Czech Republic took place in Yerevan. The Armenian delegation was represented by Ara Margaryan, the Head of the European Department and Georgi Kocharyan, the Head of International Security Department of the MFA, and the Czech delegation was headed by Ivan Pocuch, the Head of the Security Policy Department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultation, the interlocutors touched upon a number of issues of the Armenian-Czech bilateral agenda. They have commended the high level of Armenia-Czech political dialogue, which has become more active recently, and discussed important issues on the agenda of Armenia-EU in the context of the Czech presidency in the EU.

The sides discussed the current security challenges in Armenia and the South Caucasus, and exchanged views on a number of mutually interesting issues of regional and international agenda. The cooperation of the two countries in international organizations was touched upon.

Ara Margaryan and Georgi Kocharyan briefed the interlocutors on the recent aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, highlighting the importance of a targeted response of the international community in condemning the war crimes and the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
