Foreign Minister of Armenia received the representative of WHO

On August 3, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the newly appointed representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Armenia, Jihane Tawilah on the occasion of handing over the letter of accreditation.

Ararat Mirzoyan appreciated the activities of the WHO in Armenia and expressed gratitude for the support of the organization in the framework of the fight against COVID-19 and overcoming the consequences of the pandemic.

Views were exchanged on the health reforms being carried out in Armenia and the cooperation with the WHO in this matter. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the Government of Armenia is taking clear steps towards consistent improvement of the quality of life of the Armenian population, including increasing the quality of healthcare.

During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan also drew the interlocutor's attention to the humanitarian challenges resulting from the 44-day war, particularly emphasizing the need of involvement of international specialized organizations in the context of solving healthcare issues.
