Meeting of Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan with President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou

On June 27, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Athens on a working visit, met with President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulo.

Emphasizing that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Greece, Ararat Mirzoyan and Katerina Sakellaropoulou noted that the interstate relations based on traditional friendship between the Armenian and Greek peoples are at a high level and are characterized by dynamically developing multifaceted cooperation. In this context, both sides underlined the importance of intensification of current official contacts and reciprocal visits aimed at further enrichment of the agenda between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the Armenia-Greece-Cyprus framework of cooperation

The interlocutors discussed the prospects of deepening Armenian-Greek cooperation in trade, education, culture, information technologies, tourism and other spheres of mutual interests.

Ararat Mirzoyan briefed the President of Greece on the situation around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the position of the Armenian side on the processes aimed at the establishment of regional peace. The milestone mediating role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship in promoting the process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was stressed.

Ararat Mirzoyan also emphasized the support provided by Greece to the Armenian people during the 44-day war, especially the humanitarian aid.
