Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Latvia

On June 14, political consultations were held in Yerevan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Latvia. The Armenian delegation was headed by the Director of the Department of Europe Tigran Samvelyan, and the Latvian delegation was led by the Deputy State Secretary Andzejs Vilumsons.

During the consultations the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding and deepening the bilateral interstate cooperation, promoting collaboration in different spheres, as well as practical steps aimed at facilitating economic ties and increasing the trade turnover. The development of cooperation within the international organizations was highlighted.

At the end of the consultations the Latvian delegation was received by Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The sides touched upon a range of issues of mutual interest related to the regional and international agenda.

The Armenian side expressed appreciation for the position of Latvia on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in support of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship efforts.
