Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the parliamentary delegation from Italy

On May 18, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia received the delegation led by Julio Centemero, Head of the Italy-Armenia Relations Bilateral Department in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Welcoming the guests in Armenia, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for their contribution to the development of 30-year-relations between Armenia and Italy.

The parties commended the current level of parliamentary dialogue between the two countries. Emphasizing the role of legislators in the development of interstate relations, the interlocutors stressed the importance of further deepening and strengthening the relations between Armenia and Italy.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the steps aimed at establishing  security and peace in the South Caucasus region. The Armenian side presented the situation in the region and Armenia's position on the processes aimed at establishing peace and stability. In this context, Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of reiterating support for the only internationally mandated format for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship, as well as the efforts aimed at eliminating the humanitarian consequences of the 44-day war at the parliamentary level.
