Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia met with the CSTO Secretary General

On April 8, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas in Moscow. 

The interlocutors touched upon the current activities of the CSTO, the implementation of the decisions of the Collective Security Council and the schedule of the upcoming events.

Both sides stressed the importance of implementation of the priorities of the Armenian Presidency in the context of promoting the Organization's capacities.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need for the continuous efforts aimed at improving the organization's crisis response mechanisms.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia also referred to the situation created as a result of the invasion by Azerbaijani armed forces into the Parukh village and adjacent territories in Nagorno-Karabakh in the areas of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

During the meeting, Stanislav Zas presented the security situation and the current challenges in the CSTO zone of responsibility, and informed about the coordination process of the documents negotiated within the CSTO.

The interlocutors touched upon other regional and international issues of significance for the CSTO member states.
