Phone conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia

On March 21, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

Issues related to Armenian-Russian cooperation, high-level reciprocal visits and the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia were discussed.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov touched upon the implementation process of the agreements reached within Trilateral Statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021 and November 26, 2021.

Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani borderline and in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the provocations and violation of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan.

Ararat Mirzoyan also briefed his counterpart on the position of the Armenian side on launching the negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in the context of which the role of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship was emphasized.

During the conversation reference was made to the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.

Sides exchanged views on the issues related to regional and international security.
