On this very day of December 17th, in 1991, the diplomatic relations were established between Armenia and Romania. Romania had become the first UN member state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Armenia, and we recall it with appreciation.

Armenia attaches importance to the deepening of friendly relations with Romania based on mutual trust, shared democratic values, as well as sympathies between our peoples.

Armenia highly values Romania’s activity aimed at preserving the Armenian cultural heritage in Romania and supporting the country’s Armenian community.

We express our readiness to enlarge the mutually beneficial cooperation with Romania bilaterally, as well as through the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

On this festive occasion we wish prosperity and well being to the people of Romanian.
