Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland

On September 23, within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Pekka Haavisto Olavi.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland expressed readiness to further develop the Armenian-Finnish cooperation through joint efforts. The sides also discussed the establishment of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and the development of cooperation in the fields of education, environment and business. 

Touching upon issues of regional stability and security, the Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed that in order to establish regional stability and security, are important to maintain the ceasefire regime, the speedy and unconditional repatriation of prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, as well as the Armenophobic militant rhetoric.

Ararat Mirzoyan also underlined the need to resume the peace process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship, aimed at a lasting and comprehensive settlement of the conflict.
