Meeting of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan with Igor Khovaev, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair of Russian Federation

On September 6, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Igor Khovaev, the newly appointed Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, emphasizing the importance of resuming the peace process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

Minister Mirzoyan expressed the support of the Armenian side to the joint statements of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship following the 44-day war, which underlined the need for lasting and sustainable settlement of the conflict based on the well-known principles and elements.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the urgency of addressing priority humanitarian issues. In this regard, the Foreign Minister emphasized the need for unconditional repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and captured civilians held in Azerbaijan.
