Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia received the Ambassadors of Russia, France and the USA in Armenia

On May 24, Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian received the Ambassadors of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin (Russia), Jonathan Lacotte (France) and Lynne Tracy (USA).

The sides touched upon the broad context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as issues of regional security and peace.

At the center of the meeting was the situation on the bordering regions of Armenia resulting from the infiltration of Azerbaijan’s armed forces to the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed on the recent developments reiterating Armenia’s willingness towards solving the problem in a political-diplomatic way.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Aivazian mentioned that any attempt of infiltration into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is unacceptable and stressed the imperative for Azerbaijan’s armed forces to immediately and unconditionally leave the territory of the Republic Armenia in order to avoid the further escalation of the situation.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the steps being undertaken in the current situation.
