Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian held a phone conversation with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Anne Linde

On May 13, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian held a phone conversation with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Sweden Ann Linde. At the center of the conversation was the situation in the bordering area of ​​Armenia.

Acting Minister Aivazian presented to his counterpart in detail the situation in the Syunik region of Armenia resulting from the actions of Azerbaijan’s armed forces, considering inadmissible the attempts to encroach on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in violation of international law.

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office agreed that such actions are a serious challenge towards regional security and peace. In this context, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted that Azerbaijan’s actions against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the OSCE member state, and its previous threats are a direct result of the war unleashed against the people of Artsakh on September 27 last year.

The parties reiterated their commitment to make joint efforts towards maintaining security, peace and stability in the OSCE region.
