The meeting of Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aizavian with Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov

On April 1, within the framework of the session of the CIS Foregin Ministers Council, Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian had a meeting with Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.

The Foreign Ministers touched upon a wide range of issues of bilateral agenda. Both sides highlighted the importance of undertaking steps aimed at strengthening the interstate relations based on good traditions, as well as exposing the existing potential. In this context, the sides stressed the importance of holding consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and the willingness of making them on a regular basis.

Prior directions of the cooperation the following spheres were emphasized: trade and economy, science and technology, as well as cultural-humanitarian fields. 

The sides commended the mutually beneficial cooperation established between the two countries. The interlocutors exchanged views on issues of the CIS agenda.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon urgent issues of international and regional agenda, and stressed the preservation of historical monuments and cultural heritage, which are of significant importance for the two peoples.
