On February 19, Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian had a phone conversation with Luis Almagro, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States.

Minister Aivazian and Secretary General Almagro commanded the prospective cooperation between Armenia and the Organization of American States. The sides stressed mutual readiness to continue the efforts aimed at maintaining the existing dynamics of cooperation and further strengthening the dialogue, especially in the sphere of human rights protection.

During the phone conversation the issues of regional stability and peace were also touched upon. Minister Aivazian briefed Secretary General Almagro on the humanitarian situation in Artsakh resulting from the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan. As a priority, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Secretary General of the OAS stressed the urgency of repatriation of prisoners of war and captured civilians.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that Armenia really values ​​the persistent and balanced position of the organization during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
