Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian held a video call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

On January 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian held a video call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Stef Blok.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, and stressed the readiness to undertake steps towards further expansion and deepening the cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Minister Aivazian expressed gratitude to his counterpart for the support and solidarity provided to the Armenian people within the fight against Covid-19.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Netherlands discussed in detail the post-war situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Minister Aivazian presented the steps to address the humanitarian crisis resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh. The Foreign Ministers agreed on the need for unimpeded involvement of international organizations in humanitarian issues on the ground.

Minister Aivazian underlined the humanitarian issues as a priority of the current stage, specifically highlighting the safe repatriation of prisoners of war and captured citizens.

Ministers Aivazian and Blok highlighted the importance of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Netherlands also exchanged views on regional security and stability.
