Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian held a phone conversation with the US Deputy Secretary of State

On November 24, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian held a phone conversation with US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun. The US Deputy Secretary of State congratulated Ara Aivazian on assuming the post of the Foreign Minister of Armenia.

The sides highlighted the importance of maintaining close cooperation between Armenia and the United States.

During the phone call, the sides exchanged views on the steps being undertaken to address the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh resulting from the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression. In this context, Minister Aivazian thanked for the support provided by the American side, emphasizing the need for the involvement of relevant international organizations on the ground.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed the urgency of undertaking steps to ensure the conditions for the return of the displaced Armenians of Artsakh to their homeland, as well as the protection and restoration of their rights.

Minister Aivazian and Deputy Secretary of State Biegun emphasized the importance of close cooperation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries in fully addressing the interests of the conflict-affected people.
