Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan

On October 30, the meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Ceyhun Bayramov was held in Geneva with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Stéphane Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), as well as with Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of implementation of the joint statement reached on October 10 in Moscow, particularly the steps towards the cessation of hostilities.

Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed the need for the immediate and unconditional implementation of the agreements on cessation of hostilities reached with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs - Russia, France and the United States, and the establishment of a sustainable ceasefire. Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the role of verification mechanisms in establishing and maintaining the ceasefire.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia specifically stressed the unacceptability of deliberate targeting of the civilian population and infrastructure of Artsakh.

During the meeting, the sides reiterated the continuation of the peace process exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

On the same day, the meeting between the Foreign Minister of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs was held.
