On October 3, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsaknayan held a phone conversation with Josep Borrel, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Flag of European Union.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed Josep Borrel the recent developments of the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Foreign Minister informed the High Representative about the deliberate targeting of peaceful settlements and civilian infrastructure, using weapons of different calibers, resulting in human losses and destruction.

The Foreign Minister expressed his deep concern over Turkey's direct involvement in the Azerbaijani aggression, including through the deployment of foreign terrorist fighters into Azerbaijan, which bears the threat of undermining the regional security and escalating into a full-scale regional war.
