Meeting of Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with Foreign Minister of Palestine Riyad al-Maliki

On February 26, Foreign Minister of Armenia, who is in Geneva to participate in the 43rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, met with Riyad al-Maliki, Foreign Minister of Palestine. 

Foreign Ministers touched upon a number of bilateral issues, stressing the importance of taking practical steps for giving a new impetus to relations. In this regard, the historical presence of the Armenian community in Holy sites and its contribution to the social-political life of Palestine was highly appreciated.

Foreign Minister of Palestine presented the current situation in the Middle East peace process, as well as the recent development and Palestinian position in this regard. Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed on Armenia’s position concerning the Middle East peace process, including the status of Jerusalem.

Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Riyad al-Maliki also touched upon the international and regional topical t issues.

Foreign Minister of Armenia presented to his counterpart the principled position and approaches of Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
