Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Margaritis Schinas, the Vice-President of the European Commision, Commissioner for Promoting the European way of life

On February 14, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Margaritis Schinas, the Vice-President of the European Commision, European Commissioner for Promoting the European Way of Life.

Congratulating Mr. Schinas on the occasion of assuming the new mandate, Minister Mnatsakanyan wished him every success in the responsible mission of migration management and youth support - the important issues of the European continent.

The sides touched upon the intense agenda of the Armenia-EU relations and highly appreciated the existing level of partnership. Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed the readiness to cooperate more closely with the EU Commission and the European External Action Service.

During the discussion of the issues of migration and mobility, the EU Commissioner noted that Armenia's cooperation for the implementation of Armenia-EU visa facilitation and readmission agreements is exemplary.

Minister Mnatsakanyan particularly emphasized the importance of launching Visa Liberalization Dialogue, noting that liberalization of the process will give a new opportunity for further expanding people-to-people contacts and become an additional impetus for strengthening the cooperation between Armenia and the EU member states.

In the context of the enhancement and promotion of people-to-people contacts, the interlocutors particularly emphasized the implementation of youth support programs.
