The meeting of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with the Kansas Army National Guard Delegation

On January 27, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the delegation headed by Major General Lee E Tafanelli, the Adjutant General, military commander of the Kansas Army National Guard.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan commended the participation of the US Delegation in the events dedicated to the Armenian Armed Forces Day. According to the Minister, a strong partnership dialogue was established with the United States over the years and Armenia is determined to continue the efforts to further strengthen and enrich relations between the two peoples.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the Armenian-US strategic dialogue highlighting the importance of implementing the agreements reached within this framework.

As an important component of the bilateral agenda, the sides underscored the development and broadening of decentralized cooperation, the best example of which is the cooperation with the State of Kansas since 2003 under the State Partnership Agreement.

Both sides expressed readiness to undertake joint steps towards deepening cooperation in traditional spheres, including peacekeeping, military medicine, tactical training of personnel. In this context, the Head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry highly appreciated the significant contribution of the US to the strengthening of Armenia’s peacekeeping capacities.

The Foreign Minister briefed the members of the delegation on the reform processes implemented by the Government of Armenia, particularly in law enforcement, in this context highlighting the continuous cooperation with the US partners.
