Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Bratislava on a working visit to participate in the 26th OSCE Ministerial conference, had a meeting with Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

The Foreign Minister and the Special Representative emphasized the importance of such regular meetings and contacts in identifying and discussing regional issues within the mandate of the EU Special Representative. 

Interlocutors exchanged views on the recent developments on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed Toivo Klaar on the details of the meeting with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and Armenia’s assessments of the process.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reiterated Armenia’s priorities in the peace process, which he presented in his remarks during the OSCE Ministerial conference a couple of hours ago.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of undertaking confidence-building measures aimed at preparing peoples for peace. Within this context Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the implementation of journalists exchange programme from Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan.
