On October 10, on the margins of the CIS Foreign Ministerial Council session in Ashgabat, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

Both sides emphasized the active high-level dialogue and touched upon the implementation process of the agreements between the heads of the two states and consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs. 

“The high level of our dialogue and relations is gratifying. We actively cooperate on issues of international agenda as well. Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Summit, held in Yerevan, was a great opportunity to discuss the prospects of development of that integration platform at the highest level” Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted.

Foreign Ministers exchanged views on various issues of the Armenian-Russian partnership agenda, the cooperation on multilateral platforms i.e. the UN, OSCE, as well as in integration processes. 

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia discussed urgent issues on international and regional agenda, including the recent developments in Syria, resulting from Turkey’s actions.

In the course of the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
