On the conference “Living Smart-Empowering Youth” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership

On October 9, the conference “Living Smart-Empowering Youth” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership, organized jointly by the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Ministry of High - Tech Industry was held at Matenadaran.

The conference brought together high-level officials in the spheres of education, youth and innovation from Armenia, the European Union, the EU member states and the Eastern Partnership countries,  as well as heads and staff of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, representatives of a number of NGOs and companies specialized in these spheres, as well as about thirty Young European Ambassadors (YEAs).

The keynote speakers of the conference were Armen Sargsyan, the President of the Republic of Armenia and Luc Pierre Devigne, Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External  Action Service.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Avet Adonts, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arevik Anapiosyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Gegham Vardanyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and Andrea Wictorin, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

The event consisted of four thematic panels which reflected upon the Eastern Partnership achievements, challenges and future vision of the EaP in the spheres of education and innovation over the past ten years.

Issues related to education, entrepreneurship, youth, creative thinking, digitalization, and smart specialization were discussed.
