Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iraq

On September 27, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with his Iraqi counterpart Mohamed Ali Alhakim.  

Foreign Ministers noted with satisfaction the high-level political dialogue, dynamic development of trade relations between the two countries, and reaffirmed a mutual commitment to making joint efforts towards deepening and enriching the bilateral agenda. Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted that Armenia and Iraq are reliable partners, united by historical ties and shared political values.

Both sides stressed the importance of boosting business ties, promoting cooperation in alternative energy, tourism, and strengthening traditionally established ties between the peoples of the two countries. In this regard, the sides commended the special role of the Armenian community in the social and political life of Iraq and the maintenance of centuries-old friendship between the two countries.

The sides exchanged detailed views on urgent regional and international agenda issues.
