Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Japan

On August 1, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Japan were held in Yerevan.

The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts and Japanese delegation was led by Ambassador Hideki Uyama, Deputy Assistant Minister of Japan, Deputy Director-General of European Affairs Bureau and Special Representative for Central Asia, Caucasus and GUAM. 

During the consultations the sides commended the course of high-level bilateral political dialogue. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenian-Japanese bilateral political agenda, exchanged views on the further expansion and deepening of cooperation in trade, economic, scientific and other fields.

The prospects of implementing joint projects in the spheres of information technologies, renewable energy, environmental protection, tourism, infrastructure were discussed.

Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts expressed gratitude for diverse assistance provided by the Government of Japan for the development of Armenia.

The Japanese side expressed readiness to continue supporting the process of reforms in Armenia and capacity building in various spheres.

In the course of the consultations the sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of regional and international interest. The collaboration between the two friendly countries in international fora in multilateral format was highlighted.
