On June 24, within the framework of his working visit to Geneva, Minister  Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). During the meeting, the issues of cooperation agenda between Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross were touched upon. The sides valued the sectoral cooperation with various agencies of Armenia, including regarding the awareness raising on international humanitarian law and reforms being held in judiciary system.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan underlined that Armenia highly appreciates ICRC's humanitarian mission in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as its activities in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and expressed readiness to ensure the consistent cooperation with the Organization.

Touching upon the recent developments in Nagorno-Karabakh peace process the Foreign Minister attached great importance to securing the inalienable rights of people living in the conflict zone, the unwavering implementation of their rights under humanitarian law. The importance of creating an environment conducive to peace was specifically highlighted in terms of ensuring the effectiveness of peace processes.
