The meeting of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe

On June 17, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Minister Mnatsakanyan welcomed the third visit of Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe. The interlocutors commended the dynamics of regular meetings and reciprocal visits, which attest to the exiting efficient cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe and to the mutual commitment to make that cooperation more inclusive.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his interlocutor on the reform process being implemented by Government and aimed at strengthening democracy, human rights and the rule of law, highlighting the cooperation with international partners. In this context the sides underscored the importance of the Armenia-Council of Europe Action Plan for 2019-2022 as a solid tool to support the outlined priorities of the Government.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on a number of issues related to Armenia's involvement in the Council of Europe and the joint efforts to address the challenges which the organization faces.

The meeting of the Foreign Minister and the CoE Deputy Secretary General was followed by the official launch of the Armenia-European Council Action Plan for 2019-2022. The official launch of the Action Plan, followed by the cancellation of the commemorative stamp dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
