Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia

On May 3, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Georgia were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The consultations were chaired by Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, on the Armenian side and by Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, on the Georgian side.

During the meeting the sides highlighted the importance of regular meetings and discussions at various levels. A number of topics of mutual interest were discussed, particularly, issues related to regional security, cooperation in international organizations, development of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as humanitarian issues.

The sides highly appreciated the agreed prospect of holding the meeting of the Armenian-Georgian Intergovernmental Economic Commission this summer, and discussed the convenience of organizing Armenian-Georgian business forum in the same period. The sides expressed their confidence that these initiatives will create new opportunities for the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
