Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the First Deputy Mayor of Lyon Georges Képénékian

On April 26, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received the delegation headed by  Georges Képénékian, the First Deputy Mayor of Lyon.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan commended the broad and multilayered agenda existing between Armenia and France, while expressing hope that reciprocal visits at different levels will contribute to the further expansion and deepening of the Armenian-French decentralized cooperation.

Touching upon President Macron’s decision on declaring April 24 as a national day of commemoration of the Armenian Genocide in France, the Foreign Minister underscored that Armenia and the Armenian people highly appreciate this step of the brotherly people of France towards the restoration of the denial of justice.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed his interlocutors on a broad agenda of reforms being implemented by the Government and aimed at the advancement of an economy driven by innovation and technological progress. In this context both sides underlined the need for developing and deepening the mutually beneficial Armenian-French cooperation in the spheres of information technologies, innovation and creative education.

The interlocutors shared the view about the big potential for cooperation aimed at developing economic relations between Yerevan and Lyon.
