Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Romania

On April 3, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia hosted political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Romania. The Armenian delegation was headed by Avet Adonts, the Deputy Foreign Minister and Dan Neculaescu Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania led the Romanian delegation.

A wide range of issues related to the development of the Armenian-Romanian relations were discussed during the consultations. The sides touched upon the recent developments in the region, as well as the perspectives of the expansion of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Armenia-EU relations and international organizations.

Welcoming the guests and specifying the first direct flight of the Romanian delegation from Bucharest to Yerevan as symbolic, Deputy Minister A. Adonts mentioned that it will play an important role in the development of economic, touristic and cultural ties between the states.

The interlocutors discussed details of the upcoming visit Foreign Minister to Romania scheduled this fall. The sides reaffirmed their commitment to forming a rich economic and cultural agenda.

Congratulating Romania on assuming the presidency at the Council of EU, Deputy Minister Adonts wished success in effectively implementing the European agenda, pointing out that Armenia marks the 10th anniversary of its cooperation with the EU within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

The Romanian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister has been received by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Lena Nazaryan, Chairmen of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and European Integration Ruben Rubinyan and Arman Yeghoyan and RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan.

Issues related to activation of bilateral political and economic relations were discussed during the meetings.
