Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia met with the Director for Neighbourhood East, DG Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission

On March 19, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Lawrence Meredith, the Director for Neighbourhood East, DG Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), European Commission.

The interlocutors touched upon the outcome of Armenian Prime Minister’s recent visit to the EU structures and commended that the recent high-level contacts and reciprocal visits attest to the high-level of Armenia-EU partnership.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia highlighted the support and consistently developing cooperation with the EU within the framework of implementing the Government-pursue reforms and development agenda, while the EU official in his turn reiterated the readiness to ensure the latter’s continuity.

The sides also discussed issues related to sectoral cooperation between Armenia and EU, particularly the perspectives of Armenian digital agenda, and within that context, the preparatory works for the 23rd World Congress On Information Technology Forum to be held in Yerevan in October.

The interlocutors also touched upon the draft of the CEAP implementation roadmap and the consultations being held around that roadmap between the Government and the civil society.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the EU official also exchanged views on the celebration events for the Eastern Partnership 10th anniversary and the event to be hosted by Armenia to mark this jubilee.
