Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Israel

From March 4 to 6, the delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Grigor Hovhannisyan visited Israel for the Armenian-Israeli political consultations. Armen Smbatyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Israel, and Tsolag Momjian, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Israel, were also part of the delegation.   

During the visit a number of meetings with senior officials of the State of Israel, as well as business circles and media representatives were held.

Tete-a-tete talks were held with Ze’ev Elkin, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs of the Government of Israel, Tali Ploskov, Deputy Speaker of Knesset, and Alon Ushpiz, Political Director of Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

Heads of Multilateral, United Nations, EurAsia, State Protocol, Strategic and Policy Planning Departments of Israel's Foreign Ministry also took part in the political consultations held between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

During the consultations, the sides discussed developments in the Middle East and South Caucasus regions, as well as opportunities for the further development of bilateral political and economic agenda.

On March 4, the Armenian delegation visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and paid tribute to the memory of Holocaust victims.

Within the framework of the visit to Israel, the Armenian delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the annual Armenian-Israeli cultural festival.

On March 5, the meetings with the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, and representatives of Armenian community of Jerusalem were held. The interlocutors exchanged views on a number of issues of pan-Armenian agenda.
