“The problem of Nagorno-Karabakh: the bleeding wound”

On February 20, the presentation of Ambassador Arshak Polandian’s book entitled “The problem of Nagorno-Karabakh: the bleeding wound” in Arabic language was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

The event was attended by Alen Simonyan, the Vice President of National Assembly, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomats, representatives of scientific and diplomatic circles and journalists.

At the beginning of the event, Deputy Dean of the YSU Faculty of International Relations Arthur Israelyan delivered a scientific report on the book. He highlighted the scientific value of the work, presenting a number of chronological and documentary data in the book.

In his remarks, the author of the book Arshak Poladyan emphasized the importance to have an documented and comprehensive work on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue for the Arab-speaking readers.

Greeting the guests, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, thanked Arshak Poladyan for accomplishing this important initiative.  

"We, Armenians, are proud and quite self-confident people, we are aware of our history, we aware of and appreciate our identity. We do not classify ourselves superior to the others, but we know the civilizational value, the contribution we have consistently had for centuries in human history. And in this respect, whatever refers to our brothers and sisters in Artsakh, concerns each of us, every Armenian, regardless of place of living, because Artsakh embodies what commonly means protecting our identity ":

Minister Mnatsakanyan also briefly touched upon the meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, noting that it gave an opportunity to address issues raised during the recent meetings held within the framework of the peace process.
