On February 16, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

Highly appreciating the traditional friendly relations of Armenia with the Arab world, Minister Mnatsakanyan and Secretary-General Aboul Gheit discussed the steps to be taken in the direction of further development of productive collaboration between Armenia and the Arab League.

The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the ongoing developments in the Middle East, the humanitarian situation in Syria and possible steps directed towards improving it. Within this context, the Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the humanitarian situation in Syria, particularly the challenges that the Armenian community faces, have always been within the attention of Armenia, and Armenia is intended to continue its input in the humanitarian mission on the ground.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Ahmed Aboul Gheit referred to a number of urgent international and regional issues.
