On February 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Munich.

The interlocutors touched upon a wide range of issues related to the Armenian-Iranian good neighbourly relations and highlighted the spheres of trade, economy, energy, transport and tourism as an important directions of cooperation.

The sides underlined the readiness to take steps to further develop bilateral relations. The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of regular contacts and meetings, in this context highlighting the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to Iran, which is a good opportunity to address multifaceted cooperation and to outline joint steps.

A number of regional and international issues were also on the agenda of the meeting.

Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed his Iranian counterpart on Armenia's approaches to the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
