Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt

On February 15, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Hassan Shoukry.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the development and enhancement of relations with the Arab world is in important direction of Armenia’s foreign policy agenda.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Sameh Hassan Shoukry commended the Armenian-Egyptian relation based on traditional friendly ties and highlighted mutual commitment to undertake joint efforts towards the further enrichment of bilateral agenda, enhancement of political dialogue, and promotion of trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, the interlocutors attached importance to the realization of mutual high-level visits as well as the holding of the regular session of the Armenian-Egyptian intergovernmental committee.

The Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of the Armenian Egyptian community with its rich history which plays a unique bridging role in the relations of the two countries.

Presenting the recent internal political developments in Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan mentioned that among the priorities of the government is the establishment of favorable conditions for the development of the economy based on innovation and high technologies. In this context, FM Mnatsakanyan presented to his counterpart the preparational works for the World Congress on Information Technologies to be held in October in Yerevan.

The sides exchanged thoughts on a number of urgent regional and international issues.

Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan presented to his Egyption colleague the position of Armenia on the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
