Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the OSCE Secretary-General

On December 6, while on a working visit in Milan, Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Thomas Greminger, the Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The interlocutors touched upon the agenda of the 25th OSCE Ministerial Council and a range of issues related to cooperation within the framework of the OSCE. The sides also exchanged views on the challenges facing the organization and the ways of their solution.

Reference was made to the ongoing reforms in Armenia aimed at strengthening democracy, the protection of human rights and the rule of law. Both sides highlighted the importance of continuing the Armenia Cooperation Programme.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Thomas Greminger exchanged views on domestic political developments in Armenia. Acting Foreign Minister reiterated the commitment of the Government of Armenia to hold free and fair elections.

The interlocutors touched upon the latest developments on Nagorno-Karabakh peace process including the meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan held the previous day, as well as the joint statement of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
