Armenian Ambassador had a meeting with the Advisor to the Netherlands Prime Minister

On December 4th Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of Armenia had a meeting with David van Weel, Diplomatic and Defense advisor to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

In his welcoming remarks Mr. van Weel stressed the friendly nature of Armenian-Dutch relations and stressed prospects of its development.

Ambassador thanked Prime Minister’s advisor for the meeting and emphasized the effective cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands on bilateral and multilateral tracks. He noticed that deepening of trade and economic cooperation is among the priorities of his mission.

Tigran Balayan presented to his interlocutor the developments of Armenia since velvet revolution, efforts of the authorities on strengthening of democratic institutions and civil society, fight against corruption, steps undertaken for the creation of equal possibilities for businesses. Referring to the snap elections to be held in Armenia on December 9th, Ambassador Balayan reiterated Government’s intention to have elections, corresponding to the highest and most strict international standards and thanked Dutch authorities for sending observers to monitor the elections.

The two exchanged views on the prospects of Armenian - Dutch cooperation in political and economic fields. They have also touched upon couple of issues of international agenda.
