Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Ireland’s Minister of State for European Affairs

On October 11, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Helen McEntee, Minister of State for European Affairs of Ireland, who is in Armenia to participate in the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his counterpart on the occasion of Ireland’s obtaining the status of an observer in the International Organization of La Francophonie. The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that the OIF Summit provides a good platform for discussing bilateral agenda issues and outlining the prospects for further development. While briefing on the priorities of Armenia's presidency in the organization, Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored that such areas as digital development agenda, smart education and innovation will be among the key priorities.

In the context of bilateral agenda, Minister Mnatsakanyan and State Minister McEntee expressed their readiness to take active steps towards further expanding the Armenian-Irish cooperation in various spheres, particularly within the framework of Armenia-EU relations and opportunities provided by the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

Minister Mnatsakanyan touched upon the internal political developments in Armenia, the course of reforms carried out by the government on the basis of mandate given by the people.
