Diplomatic relations established between Armenia and Gambia

On October 9, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad Mamadou Tangara, who was in Armenia to participate in the 35th Ministerial Conference of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

During the meeting, the heads of Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Gambia signed a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, expressing confidence that it would give new impetus to development of cooperation between the countries in bilateral as well as multilateral formats.

Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that Armenia places great importance on increasing cooperation with African countries, highlighting the importance of multilateral platforms such as the International Organization of La Francophonie for accomplishing this goal. The two then exchanged thoughts on the agenda of the 35th Ministerial Conference of the OIF.
