On September 28, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, in New York, met with the Italian parliamentary delegation headed by Marta Grande, the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

Minister Mnatsakanyan underscored the high level of Armenian-Italian interstate relations. He expressed conviction that the Armenian-Italian friendship, which comes from the depths of centuries, will be further strengthened and deepened through mutual efforts.

Minister Mnatsakanyan, answering a number of questions of the Italian parliamentarians, touched upon the recent internal political developments in Armenia, foreign policy priorities of the Government programme, the development agenda and the steps undertaken in the area of innovation and technology, which is considered to be its driving force.

The sides exchanged views over a number of issues of regional and international significance.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan briefed the Italian parliamentarians on the position and approaches of Armenia with regards the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
